Modo + Got Craft? = ♥

Modo The Car Co-op is the first carsharing co-operative in North America, the first English speaking car co-op in the world, and has helped carsharing co-ops start up throughout Canada. They started sharing 15 years ago – with only two cars, 16 members and one employee – and haven’t looked back since. Modo members now collectively share ownership of 270+ Modo vehicles in Metro Vancouver – booking by the hour or by the day, depending on the type of trip.

Besides wheels, Modo also offers great perks to members – from discounts on transit to extended health and dental benefits – and have roaming agreements with carsharing organizations in cities all around the world, meaning members visiting San Francisco, for example, have one more option for getting around.

As a co-operative, part of Modo‘s organizational mission is to help build vibrant, inclusive, sustainable communities. Modo has a rich history in advocating for and supporting all kinds of initiatives that make our communities stronger – including events like Got Craft?, which connects local artisans with new customers and provides a gathering space for neighbours to come together over a shared interest, such as handmade and D.I.Y. culture.

Ah, winter vacation. Snow covered mountains are breathtaking in so many ways, especially if you are traversing them in a car with box snowtires during a massive winter storm; those signs above the highway and various websites aren’t always particularly accurate. Because I have vowed to NEVER be in that position again, especially with a screaming infant to boot, I would use a modomembership to get the right vehicle to take me to new summits!

I’d use a modo car to drive out to the Fraser Valley, see the extended family at Christmas.

This could be fate because I would use the modo vehicle to go everywhere my jetta used to take me….mostly around vancouver and richmond….my vw jetta is dying a quick death at its 3rd mechanic i’m getting word that one of the fixes it will need is a new throttle body which would be worth more than the car itself to replace.

Barely getting in under the wire! I’d take my Modo to the mountains to frolic in the snow!
