shop tour :: bookhou

Bookhou-1Bookhou-2Bookhou-3Bookhou-4Bookhou-5Bookhou-6With us being back in Toronto for the One of a Kind show, I figured this would be a good time to share some of the photos I took during our visit last April to Bookhou. Better late than never?

Co-founded by husband and wife, John and Arounna, this amazing duo works out of a beautiful space with a brick and mortar shop at the front, a studio at the back, and their own living space above. Everything that Bookhou creates is amazing and being a follower of their work, I can’t imagine anything that this duo can’t do from custom furniture to the beautiful hand printed textiles you see above. If you are in Toronto, make sure to say hello in person or visit their website to see their online shop. I’ve had my eye on the triangle zip tote for quite some time now. Merry Christmas to me?

shop tour :: Brick & Mortar Living

Located in one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods, the shop is a part of the Arundel Mansions, a building built in 1912 and chock block full of the character details that I love.

With a keen eye for styling and displays, sisters Julia and Emma (with the help of their mom!) fill their shop with plenty of inspiration from repurposed mason jar pendant lamps and tennis racket cork boards to handmade goods by Pretty Paper Please, The Beautiful Project, Belvedere, and more. They pride themselves in providing a memorable face-to-face customer experience so make sure to stop in and say hello!

shop tour :: ReForm School

ReFormMy last California shop tour has been posted on Poppytalk today! You can check out my full post here.

I will be taking a break from blogging over the next few weeks while we get ready for the holidays. Amazing to think that one year ago we were living in London, UK and getting ready to head to our friends in Cambridge for Christmas. This year, we’ll be hosting Robert’s parents for a few days as they have decided to stay local and not make the trek over to the British Virgin Islands where his sister lives. Here’s to hoping to sit in front of the tree and enjoy hot drinks and all those naughty things you only eat during the holiday season!

Happy Christmas.
