The Art of Food and Prop Styling with the Artful Desperado

LFSFoodPropStylingThe Artful Desperado returns to London Fields Shoppe this September with a new workshop, The Art of Food and Prop Styling! This was one of our most popular workshops last spring and we sold out so quickly that the second date filled before we could properly announce it! We listened to your feedback from the first class and slightly tweaked the course content to focus on styling, rather than photography. We extended the length of the session and decreased the number of students, so space is * very * limited.

Two dates available:
Saturday, September 12th or Saturday, September 19th, 2015
10:00 am to 2:30 pm
London Fields Shoppe – 692 East Hastings Street, Vancouver (BC)

Cost: $250.00 plus tax | max. 8 students

note: Workshops are a final sale and are non-refundable. Class dates / times are non-transferable.

Happy Family Day!

lotus events blogIt’s British Columbia’s first Family Day today which is pretty exciting as we don’t normally have a stat holiday between Christimas and Easter! Robert and I have been spending most of the day cleaning the house and catching up on various tasks. Nothing too exciting, but at least we are spending the day together!

I nicked this photo off of my uncle’s facebook album this morning. It’s a picture of him as a little boy back in Peru where his parents owned a provision store. I absolutely love this image and wanted to share it with you too.

Happy Family Day! ♥

field trip :: bows and arrows

The thing I loved most about living in London, UK was seeing something amazing on the Internet / Twitter and then being able to hop on the bus and seeing it in person. So there I was catching up on my twitter feed when I spotted a message that Bows and Arrows was opening their doors the same day we were leaving for Vancouver. We set the alarm and ate an early breakfast before hopping in the car and making a beeline to Bows and Arrows. With GPS in hand, we were almost ready to give up (signage was in the works) when we finally spotted an open door – hurrah!

Drew and Amber were super sweet and we had a nice chat as we enjoyed our flat white and coffee before heading over to the ferry. Primarily a coffee roaster, their space is currently a work in progress as they have plans to install a standing rail and some outdoor seating. Definitely check it out next time you are in Victoria (looking at you Lesley and Tan)!

field trip :: fernwood coffee

Ben, the owner of Fernwood Coffee was kind enough to host us for a tour of his coffee shop and roastery during our brief visit to Victoria last week. Robert and I enjoyed a generous selection of beverages (yes, all of those cups above were ours) and one of the best blt sandwiches in the City – yum! The best house cleaning in Dallas!

Also make sure to check out Patisserie Daniel located just around the corner. Fernwood uses their bread for their sandwiches and we made e a quick stop to stock up on our way to the ferry!
