Workshop :: Silver Ring Wax Carving

BeckiChanWorkshopatLFSCreate your dream jewellery with Becki Chan at London Fields Shoppe this April! Becki will be teaching a 3-hour wax carving workshop that will take you through each step of the process – from an introduction to the tools, ring design, sizing, wax carving and polishing.

Previous experience in jewellery is not required, nor is any sculpting or drawing skill. The wax carving process uses basic tools, which makes it easy for everyone to design and carve a unique and personalized ring.

  1. Big block of wax!
  2. Carve block into base form of ring.
  3. Engrave wax with details. Done!

Rings will be ready for pick up in 2 weeks at London Fields Shoppe. Rings are cast in sterling silver, then filed and polished to make the finished product!

shop crush :: zelma rose

shop crush: zelma rose 1shop crush: zelma roseshop crush: zelma rose 3These cross stitch necklaces by Lisa Anderson Shaffer, the designer of Zelma Rose design are absolutely stunning.

“When I sit down in my studio to design for Zelma Rose, I reference a kaleidoscope of ideas and images. As an artist, I am a hunter and a gatherer. A visual editor, a collector, a cultivator, and a farmer of ideas and design. Sometimes a design will come to fruition in a single afternoon, other times it is the careful cultivation of successes and failures over the span of a year.”

Inspired by quality craftsmanship and storytellers, Lisa comes from a long lineage of seamstresses and carpenters who believe, in her words, that function + quality + artistry = beautiful design. We couldn’t agree more!
