field trip :: marché st. george

Shhh… I’ve been twitter stalking Le Marché St. George when I was still in London, so you can bet your bottom dollar that we were going to visit soon after returning to Vancouver! You see, I have a “thing” for neighbourhood storefronts attached to houses. Maybe it’s because there aren’t that many of them in Vancouver, but they just seem so special and Le Marché St. George is just that. A neighbourhood grocer, they carry locally sourced grocery staples including Beta 5 chocolates, D-Original sausages, and farm house cheeses.

The husband and wife team also runs a cafe with a coffee bar and light lunch menu including a range of quiches and baked goods. Their hot chocolate is one of the best I have ever had – chocolatey, but not too sweet! A true hidden gem in South Vancouver (BC)!

in the city ::

After spending the past year and five days in London, UK, we are now at home in Vancouver, BC until we head back to London this Summer. The past few days have been filled with visits from family and friends, and revisiting all of our old haunts while discovering new ones – hello Le Marché St. George! (pictures coming soon). We’ve really hit the ground running, and after working mostly from home for the past 8 years, I have accepted a temporary full time contract – gah! This means that I have to pack a lunch and wear clothes that aren’t pajamas for 8+ hours 5 days a week. I made a trip to Daiso this weekend to stock up on some cute office stationery to get me through 4 weeks!

My blog posts for this week are ready to go, so please check back tomorrow and, keep me entertained via twitter and facebook! I may need some hand holding to get through this * nervous smiles *
