things to do :: forest and waves pop-up

Forest-and-Waves-Pop-UpGot Craft? vendor, Edward Juan from Forest and Waves will be taking over the Chinatown Experiment this week with his very first pop-up retail store! Ed first contacted me last year when he was relocating from the US to Vancouver and I remember instantly falling in love with his work. As an avid surfer, and with him completing the NYC marathon last Sunday, it is no surprise that the store will be specializing in outdoor inspired goods – hence the name, Forest and Waves.

Along with his locally designed line of paper goods and tea towels, he will also carry a selection of clothing, home decor from Pigeon Toe Ceramics and LandonDix, skate boards from local designer Would Boards, and fabric pouches from Roxypop. I’ll be behind the counter giving Edward a helping hand, so stop by and say hello!

London Fields Shoppe

LFS-interiorI have something to tell you! See that picture above? Welcome to our new store front, London Fields Shoppe!

We’ve been scarce around these parts lately and we are so happy to finally share with you what we have been working on for the past 20 weeks! I know. You are probably thinking “20 weeks for this box with no walls”? Trust me when I say that I had to put aside my only child tendencies and be very patient!

Taking inspiration from Got Craft? and our time in the United Kingdom, London Fields Shoppe was created and named after the area where our favourite market, Broadway Market, takes place in London, UK. We wanted to create a space that reflected our personalities and to share with the community not only work by local designers, but items that we’ve come across during our travels.

We are both mildly overwhelmed and extremely excited! We’re working around the clock (literally as we are working with designers from 3 different continents!) and will be sharing more details soon. In the meantime, sign up for our mailing list to be in the know and for an invite to our opening party! We’ll be sharing the full details soon!
