shop local :: homesteader’s emporium

Homesteader’s Emporium is a one stop shop for all of your urban homesteading needs. Whether you are looking to start raising your own chickens, collect your own honey, roast your own coffee, or compost in your apartment; this is the place to go to find all of the supplies you would need. As a DIYer himself, owner Rick, used to spend a lot of time researching places in Vancouver to purchase materials and ingredients for his own projects before he decided to set up shop on East Hastings in Vancouver.

Carrying a wide selection of goods for your own projects or to gift to family and friends for the holidays, Homesteader’s Emporium will provide the tools you need to make your own sauerkraut, cheese, or beeswax candles. They also offer plenty of workshops to provide you with the know-how on how to make soap as well as partnering up with community groups and like minded businesses to present jam making sessions and a workshop about growing your own mushrooms! Make sure to check out their events page here for upcoming sessions or pop over to the shop to discover everything they have to offer.

The crew will also be at Got Craft? on Saturday, December 8th and Sunday, December 9th, 2012 at the Croatian Cultural Centre from 10-5pm selling cheese presses, DIY sauerkraut kits, handmade soap and candles, and more!
