Outdoor inspired Forest & Waves will showcase backpacks, blankets, tote bags, maps and a new collaboration with Tofino’s Caravan Beach Shop. Annie from Lemonni presents a line of colour home textiles and paper goods while Jenny from Oollo Tea is serving her farm-direct teas along with locally made treats such as ice cream from Brown Paper Packages and raw chocolates by Bumble & Oak.
With us being back in Toronto for the One of a Kind show, I figured this would be a good time to share some of the photos I took during our visit last April to Bookhou. Better late than never?
Co-founded by husband and wife, John and Arounna, this amazing duo works out of a beautiful space with a brick and mortar shop at the front, a studio at the back, and their own living space above. Everything that Bookhou creates is amazing and being a follower of their work, I can’t imagine anything that this duo can’t do from custom furniture to the beautiful hand printed textiles you see above. If you are in Toronto, make sure to say hello in person or visit their website to see their online shop. I’ve had my eye on the triangle zip tote for quite some time now. Merry Christmas to me?

Got Craft? vendor, Edward Juan from Forest and Waves will be taking over the Chinatown Experiment this week with his very first pop-up retail store! Ed first contacted me last year when he was relocating from the US to Vancouver and I remember instantly falling in love with his work. As an avid surfer, and with him completing the NYC marathon last Sunday, it is no surprise that the store will be specializing in outdoor inspired goods – hence the name, Forest and Waves.
Along with his locally designed line of paper goods and tea towels, he will also carry a selection of clothing, home decor from Pigeon Toe Ceramics and LandonDix, skate boards from local designer Would Boards, and fabric pouches from Roxypop. I’ll be behind the counter giving Edward a helping hand, so stop by and say hello!
