After being delayed leaving Heathrow to Ottawa, we missed our connector and ended up being rerouted from Ottawa to Toronto to Washington where we picked up our rental car and drove to Baltimore. Needless to say, we were absolutely exhausted by the time we arrived at our hotel, but it was completely worth it.
The Summit of Awesome was just that – awesome! An annual conference that brings together crafters and creatives from across the U.S. to learn, grow, and be prosperous in today’s economy. After meeting the ladies of Hello Craft at last years’ event, we were honoured to be invited to present two sessions at the event last week with our new friend, Rachel from Red Prairie Press and the Charm City Craft Mafia – Craft Fair Applications + Organizing a Craft Fair. For those that attended the talk or missed it, I will be posting my notes on here soon.
The event always offers an amazing line up of sessions presented by some of the most influential people in the creative field including Jay McCarroll and Debbie Stoller and Laurie Henzel from BUST magazine.
It’s hard not to leave the 2.5 day event without feeling inspired and a list of things to change / tweak / improve! We had a great time exploring Baltimore and meeting up with new and old friends! Thanks so much to Hello Craft for having us. You can see more images from the event on the Hello Craft flickr group here and if you ever wonder if investing in a conference like this is worth it, I recommend checking out this blog post by Isaac B.
