SMUG turns 3!

One of my favourite stores in London, UK is celebrating their 3rd birthday next week! To kick off the festivities, SMUG will be releasing a few new exclusives including the hand screened Guinea Pig Hanky by Thornback & Peel and the Jeeves Cup & Saucer and Sandwich Plate by Ali Miller. Too cute! Can’t wait to stop by and see what else owner Lizzie has been up to!

Looking for something to do on Wednesdays or Saturdays? Make it a day and stroll through Camden Passage!

This morning we head to Camden Passage in Islington, a pedestrian thoroughfare dating back to the 18th century. Tucked between the vintage shops and busy eateries, you will find a quirky lifestyle store called SMUG.

Owned and run by Lizzie Evans, SMUG carries an eclectic mix of homewares, jewelry, paper goods, vintage furniture and kitchenware that are made mostly by London based makers. Lizzie also works with her favourite designers to create exclusives for SMUG including wooden owls by Matt Pugh and plush owls by Chloe Owens as pictured above.

field trip :: camden passage

We discovered the area around Angel tube station last month when we first met our new friends Lana and Rick. While walking through the streets to the bakery for croissants and coffee; me, being me, couldn’t help but oogle at all the antique and vintage stalls that we were passing by.

Just off of Islington, Camden Passage is open every Wednesday and Saturday. Above is one of my favourite stores in Pierrepont Arcade. Don’t forget to stop at Number One. With stacks of teacups and china placed in every inch of this small shop, you will never find a more charming china shop then this one.

Since we decided to stay in London during the Easter break, we definitely noticed that the city has emptied out. We could actually walk through the market without bumping into anyone!

There are tons of restaurants and cafes near Camden Passage. A few of our favourites is Byron (above), an american diner style restaurant that serves A&W root beer and Chillango, a mexican burrito bar… nom nom nom…
