In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to use a small Kelsey 3×5 press. These tiny presses can fit on a table, and are good for working in small spaces. The workshop will have two parts. Sam will start by explaining various parts of working with traditional and modern letterpress techniques, safe working practices, and sourcing things. The second part will be hands-on. Make sure to bring your questions!

You’ll take home:

  • one dozen letterpress printed gift tags – perfect for gift giving
  • handout with letterpress resources
  • gift packaging for your newly printed tags to ensure their safe travel home


where: Got Craft? in the gym at Templeton Secondary School – 727 Templeton Drive, Vancouver (corner of Turner and Templeton)
when: Sunday, April 28th, 2013 between 3-5pm

Taught by Sam Bradd, illustrator and printer and co-founder of the Vancouver Letterpress League. Since this is a two hour session, all participants will use the same preset design and colour.
