hello Sunday!

the everyday 1the everyday collageI was planning on spending the long weekend making a huge dent on our to-do list. However, the last few days in Vancouver have been filled with sunshine and warm weather. So instead of working away on our computers, we’ve been enjoying icy beverages, open windows and skirts with bare legs and open toe sandals! Dare I say, that SUMMERRRRR is almost here!?

Looking back at my instagrams, we sure saw a lot of the city this past week! We finally made it to the Pie Shoppe and Harvest to visit friends and of course, to eat pie! We skated shuffled at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Arena for a media event, went for daily walks in our neighbourhood, shopped at the Vancouver Farmers Market, drank flat whites at Nelson the Seagull, read the most recent issue of Gather, and enjoyed hot pot with friends.

How was your Easter? Hope everybody had a chance to enjoy some warm weather and soak in some sun!

A few years ago, I would have never thought to walk down Hastings and Carrall Street in Vancouver. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t even go past Dressew, but the City has changed. Holy moly, has it changed! One early morning walk later, we discovered fantastic eateries and shops such as Old Faithful Shop, Cartem’s Donuterie, Revolver Coffee, Meat and Bread, and Nelson the Seagull. And really, with a tagline of “Bread and Coffee”, did you expect anything else, but brilliant toast and flat whites? Yes! Flat whites!

in the city ::

I have been working out of the home since we returned from London, so please excuse the silence over here. I have to admit that I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed right now, and the blog is always the first to fall off the wagon. I made myself a work timeline that hopefully will keep me on track with all of the different projects that I am working on, but I seriously thought I was my losing my mind last week when I couldn’t recall past conversations or retain any new information!

We did carve out some “me” time during the weekend and while the sun was shining, spent the morning strolling through Gastown. We discovered some new to us shops such as Nelson the Seagull, Old Faithful Shop, Save On Meats, and attempted to visit Cartem’s, but it was early and they weren’t quite open yet. Much of the evening was then spent sitting in front of the telly with Cleo and finishing up crocheting an apple cozy order.

Hope you had a great weekend too! Happy Monday!
