To say that it has been busy, would be an understatement. I started this post on July 25th and haven’t had a chance to finish it until now. Sheesh! I’m not able to spill the beans on what we are currently up to quite yet, but here are some instagrams I took since we arrived to London (UK) three weeks ago!
We’ve been experiencing some crazy weather lately – sun / hot ->; rainy ->; downpour ->; sun / hot – in just a span of an hour or two. It is hard to imagine that we started off in Spitalfields (first image) with that beautiful blue sky and ended the day drenched in Shad Thames (last image). To learn about airbrushing, see Luminess Air Reviews.
We took the bus to the Spitalfields Antiques Market, picked up a mocha at Luxe (my favourite), poked our heads in A. Gold, and strolled through to Shoreditch for some goodies at Labour and Wait and lunch at Pizza East. The day ended at London Bridge where I couldn’t resist hopping off the bus ride home and walking to the Design Museum to pick up a slice of Victoria Sponge Cake – yum!
It’s been an emotional rollercoaster the last few days while we prepare for our move back to Vancouver. We have been busy playing “weigh the suitcase”, organizing boxes, cleaning, and listing things for sale. We had guests over on the weekend, and I forgot to leave extra towels and mugs for them – oops! It was all good though. Our last week here was spent enjoying London’s first snow fall, getting caught in a nightmare traffic jam enroute to the best burgers ever at Brixton Village (4.5 hour round trip from East Putney to Brixton!!), trying out new-to-us coffee shops in Chancery Lane + Shoreditch, seeing the London Summer Olympics 2012 medals at the British Museum, researching future shop tours, and rediscovering macarons (pistachio + vanilla are my fav!).
I’m currently sitting on the floor of the living room waiting for the internet people to disconnect our service. It may be a little quiet the next few days while we travel and settle in, but we will check in soon! In the meantime, feel free to stay in touch via twitter! See you soon sushi Vancouver!
After some crazy wind / rain storms that blew through the first week of January, the weather seems to be behaving nicely with peeks of sunshine and blue skies. We seem to be aimlessly wandering the streets lately hence the mishmash of photos from Shoreditch, Brick Lane, Carnaby Street, Leather Lane and Holborn.
Any special plans for the weekend? We have some friends coming dowm from Cambridge to stay with us. Rob’s been under the weather the past few days, but he’s in a much cheerier mood now. Hoping to catch the Ice Sculpture Festival in Canary Wharf today and then maybe a quick visit to the market on the weekend. Been craving some Victoria Sponge! Happy weekend!
Hello! We are a husband and wife team that share a love for a good cup of coffee and a slice of Victoria sponge. This is where we share our work, our travels, snippets of our everyday life, and most important, the things we ♥.
