field trip :: columbia road flower market

I actually wrote this post a few weeks ago, but didn’t get around to posting it. Here are a few snapshots from our trip out to the Columbia Road Flower Market and the Sunday Upmarket. We had a few friends staying with us that weekend and they wanted an “off the tourist path” visit to London.

I really enjoy taking the tube to Aldgate East station and walking through Brick Lane, picking up some tasty treats at the food stalls and then walking straight through to the flower market. This route also means that we are lucky enough to stop by the Tatty Devine store and check out their rotating exhibits (Gemma Correll, Girls + Zines, etc.)!

It is the perfect walk on a sunny day and despite the crowds, a very pleasant trip filled with vintage finds (more pyrex!), food, sewing supplies and of course, some beautiful flowers!

field trip :: the weekend

One thing that I love about London is that there is always so much to do. We seem to be taking full advantage of this and have been buzzing all over the city! Last weekend consisted of fish and chips at Camden Lock, meeting new friends at the Craft Guerrilla summer craft fair, exploring Walthamstow, banh mi and cheesecake at Broadway Market, the Gemma Correll exhibit at Tatty Devine, buying a vintage skirt at the Sunday Up Market in brick lane and the Vintage Festival at Southbank. Whew! Wait until you see what we were up to this weekend! <3
